The Spring Azure (Celastrina ladon) is a small blue and white butterfly usually found at the edge of woods. From above males have brilliant blue fully covering both wings and females have a slightly more subtle blue coloration with very bold dark wing margins. The ventral side is quite variable depending on the form, but is mostly white with black dots and crescents. These butterflies are larger than Eastern Tailed-Blues and usually make stronger and higher flights. They have no orange on the ventral side and no tails.
