The Peck’s Skipper (Polites peckius) is a tiny, boldly-marked grass skipper with 2 yellow, and 2 brown curved bands on the ventral side hindwing. From above, males have a mostly dark brown forewing, with an orange leading edge, a small rectangular mark at the center, and light fringe. Females are mostly dark and have lots of light colored dashes on the forewing. If you notice a boldly-marked and very tiny grass skipper, it is likely a Peck’s!!
