The Little Glassywing (Pompeius verna) is a fairly common purplish brown grass skipper with a bold spot band along the center of the ventral side hindwing and a bracelet of spots on the forewing which have a ‘glassy’ or pearly appearance. From above, both males and females are very dark with many large light, almost rectangular-shaped ‘glassy’ markings on the forewing, and light colored fringe on both wings.
