The Appalachian Brown (Saytrodes appalachia) is a small satyr with goldish-tan wings exhibiting black eyespots, which are encircled with yellow and black rings, and have a bluish white dot in the center. The lines on the ventral side wings are mostly smooth and curved, with the inner line closest to the body being fairly straight. This is helpful to differentiate from the very similar Eyed Brown which has more jagged lines.
